It was wonderful to come across your photos. I worked briefly as a technician in the Zoology Department at Birmingham University (1976-79) before leaving to join the navy and later did a PhD in Zoology. Now I am now a professor in Canada. I therefore knew almost everyone in the 1983-84 photo. Fond memories, especially of Brendan Massey, who used to ween students and all-comers on cheap cider and opera at his residence in Lake Hall (resulting in many a hangover). I visited him much later (around 1995 I think), while on a walking holiday in Eire, at his family home in a pretty little west coast village (no recollection of the name, unfortunately).
