For several years, I was fortunate enough to be involved in a research project looking at diving and underwater vision in Great Cormorants (Phalacrocorax carbo). Working with these birds was a memorable experience because they were so incredibly intelligent, quickly learning any necessary tasks that were set in order to win a fish reward. It therefore comes as no surprise to me that the eminent ethologist Adriaan Kortlandt dedicated several decades of his long life to the study of the behaviour of these fascinating animals. Please note that for most of my Zenfolio galleries I use Olympus micro four thirds cameras and lenses .. there are no better...especially for macrophotography.
