A live bird flea of an unidentified species taken from either a Great Tit or Blue Tit at Chaddesley Woods National Nature by Reserve by Dr Jen Smith, a former PhD student at the Centre for Ornithology, University of Birmingham. I had great difficulty in photographing this little blighter because it just wouldn't keep still. Subject was placed on a glass slide without a coverslip. Body length approximately 2mm.
