Terry's Lane, Tyburn / Pype Hayes (JPEG)

Terry's Lane, Tyburn / Pype Hayes (JPEG)

There seems to be some confusion as to where exactly Terry's Lane is within the adjacent Tyburn and Pype Hayes areas. At least one local historian reckons it forms part of what is now Eachelhurst Road, which runs between Pype Hayes Park and Plants Brook Nature Reserve. To add to the confusion, there is a "new" Terry's Lane (cul-de-sac) that runs off Westmead Crescent in Pype Hayes. However, what I can tell you is that the buildings in this Edwardian scene, no longer exist. The postcard from which this image was scanned is extremely dark; but my CanoScan 9000F Mark II scanner has done a fantastic job here, because there is loads of detail in the downloadable image.
